Do you have a daily routine?
I couldn’t say that I have a defined daily routine as my job is so varied, but there’s a couple of things that strike true every day...

The alarm normally goes off at 7am and I try and get to the gym 3 mornings a week (spinning on a Monday is at 6.45am so a super early one!)

As I work from home, I always make sure I stop for lunch so that we can take the 2 dogs out for a walk. I’m pretty good at trying to start and finish work as if I was going to an office, so I’m at my desk by 8.30 /9am and then finishing around 5pm.

Could you tell us what you do for a day job?
I work with my husband in his financial services business running the admin / accounts side of things whilst he deals with the more complex money side!

We’ve also set up another business that offers admin assistance to small businesses who just don’t have the time – people want to run their business, not get bogged down in the admin. The business also offers Will Writing and Estate Planning – it’s surprising how many people don’t have a Will but don’t realise the implications of not having one. It’s only been going 3 months and it’s already proving to be quite a sought after service.

When's your first cup of tea?
I absolutely can’t drink a cup very first thing in the morning, it makes me feel ill especially if it’s really milky. It’s normally after I’m up, showered and had breakfast that I have my first cup…and then I have a second usually within about 20 minutes of finishing the first!

What's your preferred tea-making ritual?
I don’t think I really have one – the only thing I know that I do is drink it almost as soon as it’s made so it’s scalding hot. I read recently that Nigella does exactly the same so maybe it’s my inner Nigella trying to escape…

My Great Nan lived in Yorkshire and I have vivid memories of her having a specific tea cup and coffee mug. I remember visiting her and my Dad making her some tea in her coffee cup – she refused to drink it and told Dad to make a fresh one…she said she’d know if he just poured it from one cup to another!!

Did you drink tea as a child?
I don’t remember drinking tea as a child to be honest, I know I drink A LOT when I’m working so I guess it stemmed from an office environment!

Do you ever partake in the drinkage of fruit tea?
My husband can’t drink milk and says the alternative milks just don’t taste the same in a “normal” cup of tea so he drinks a lot of peppermint, camomile and lemon and ginger. I keep trying it in the hope that I’ll enjoy a cup of something different but frankly you can’t beat a cup of builders tea!

Confess. Can you say no to biscuits or cake? Are you a dunker?
I have virtually zero will power so if there’s cake or biscuits in the house then they have to be eaten. I could easily scoff a whole packet of Maryland Choc Chip Cookies if I was allowed – they’re literally a mouthful a biscuit so it’s easily done!!! I think the aforementioned cookies are the only ones I dunk…

I’m trying to be good with the snacking in between meals at the moment so the treat cupboard is a little bare!!

Which is your favourite cuppa of the day?
Probably my second cup of the day.

Is there one break that's non-negotiable?
LUNCH!!! A must for both me, my husband and our dogs!

Milk or tea in the cup first?
I have to say I’m not that fussy when it comes to how the tea is made. As long as it’s not too strong then I’ll gladly drink it!

And finally, any projects or news you’d like to talk about?
I’m fairly new to blogging and after 4 month’s I’ve finally got a twitter handle that matches my blog name. Why I didn’t sort that out in the first place I’ll never know so I’m trying to get my followers to switch!

Trying to grow the admin services business is something I want to focus on in 2016.

The other big news for me, is that we’re going to live in Spain for 6 weeks. Both of the businesses can be run virtually so it shouldn’t cause any problems. We’re also taking our dogs with us, so it’s been a mammoth amount of planning on getting them there, the route we’re taking and how many stops. It’s a 19 hour door to door drive but obviously with the dogs, that’s not possible so we want to try and make it a bit of a road trip as well.
