Do you have a daily routine?
Well apart from doing the school run and a couple of hours of novel writing in the morning my day can really vary depending on what I have got on and events I need to attend. I spend a fair bit of time checking emails, being active on social media and waiting for the sun to come out so I can take blog photos.
Could you tell us what you do?
I have just finished writing my first novel and have started on my next. I am a beauty & afternoon tea blogger but I really write about anything that takes my fancy regarding travel and food as well!
When's your first cup of tea?
Once I return from dropping off my son at school the kettle goes on… It is just a normal black tea (not too strong) with a splash of milk. Bliss.
What's your preferred tea-making ritual?
Gosh, this is difficult as I like so many different types of tea so each one requires something different to make it special. My mum always said tea tastes nicer when someone else makes it for you… it is rare that I get a tea made for me so I do savour it when it does happen and now I am inclined to agree.
I do enjoy using my tea infuser with loose leaf tea and my milk frother when making a chai latte.
Tea is served either in my favourite stripey mugs or my latte glasses.
Did you drink tea as a child?
No! I didn’t start drinking tea or coffee until I was 25… as it seemed to be an office ritual it was rude to say no when offered and I have never looked back. I love trying different teas.
Confess. Can you say no to biscuits or cake? Are you a dunker?
I have to confess I can quite happily skip the biscuits and cake if home alone as I have never made the link between eating and drinking. However, as a huge afternoon tea fan of course I enjoy delicious cakes when out and about or with friends, who can resist!!
The only biscuit worth dunking is a chocolate digestive…
Which is your favourite cuppa of the day?
Ooh hard question! I really do love each and every one! No really I do, don’t make me choose.
Is there one break that's non-negotiable?
Hmmm elevenses, it is something that should be enshrined in law.
Milk or tea in the cup first?
Are you seriously asking this question? Oh you are... Tea in the cup first, add the milk after to decide what strength you want it to be.
And finally, any projects or news you’d like to talk about?
Well I have mentioned my fiction novel which I am planning to get published, I am hoping for many more in the pipeline as I am simply bursting with ideas for more stories.
The blog is becoming more food orientated so I guess lots of food and drink posts to come, I hope to start some regular features as well. I want to find out who serves the best Espresso Martini in London … meanwhile enjoy the current afternoon tea posts :)
