I asked blogger Fiona Abbey to describe her day in tea...
Do you have a daily routine?
Yes. If it's a uni day I'm up and out the house early! Or if I'm staying in, I tend to stay in bed and read for as long as I can get away with.
When's your first cup of tea?
Either when I get up or before a 9am lecture - and by before I mean grabbing one as I'm no use to anyone without my first cup of the day.
What's your preferred tea-making ritual?
Warm teapot, add a tea bag (Teapigs preferably), hot water and leave to brew until it's the right strength. I don't like my tea too strong.
Did you drink tea as a child?
Yes, but it was weak and fairly milky and was the only thing I drank other than water. Not much has changed if I'm honest!
Confess. Can you say no to biscuits or cake?
Yes, actually. I'm not always in the mood for something sweet although both my grandmothers got me into the habit of having something with my tea. I don't always now as I drink so much of it!
Which is your favourite cuppa of the day?
The afternoon one that keeps me going. When I get home from uni I have a cup of tea so that I get some more work done, as I try and avoid doing any after dinner.
Is there one break that's non-negotiable?
First cup of the day! Without that, I'm a zombie and my lecture notes would make even less sense than they do already.
And finally, milk or tea in the cup first?
Milk first and then tea from the pot on top. If I have to have a take away tea then obviously the milk goes in afterwards. But it's not my preferred method or even my favourite type of tea.
