I asked blogger Emma Louise to describe her day in tea...
Do you have a daily routine?
My daily routine consists of waking up at 7:50am, having a quick breakfast, applying my make-up and getting ready for the day. I leave the house around half 8 and head into the local Primary School where I am currently volunteering, as I have applied to do my PGCE. I then finish around 12, head home for some lunch and if the weather is nice, I will walk the puppy before coming back home – blogging until around 4, do a spot of reading as well as the dishes! Then, it’s the most important decision of the day – what to have for tea? In the evenings I will watch Hollyoaks on E4, take part in Twitter chats, get into bed around nine, read a bit more and eventually fall asleep.
When's your first cup of tea?
My first cup of tea is around 8am in the weekday morning, and around 9 or 10 on a weekend.
What's your preferred tea-making ritual?
Pop the kettle on – teabag in the cup – pour ¾ full – leave to brew for a minute – add a splash of milk – stir well – pull out the bag and squeeze – add half a teaspoon of sugar – stir again and enjoy!
Did you drink tea as a child?
I did yes! My Grandad (aka Grumps) used to let his tea go cold and put my dummy in so I could enjoy with him! I don’t mind cold tea and it’s no surprise.
Confess. Can you say no to biscuits or cake?
I’m trying to be healthy, so I’m only allowing myself to have a biscuit when I have a cup of tea – which is every hour, on the hour. Ha!
Which is your favourite cuppa of the day?
The first of the day always tastes the best!
Is there one break that's non-negotiable?
I have to have a cup of tea at 9pm – it’s a rule in our household and even if it’s a minute late, it feels weird.
And finally, milk or tea in the cup first?
Brew the tea first, then the milk!
