As you know, I didn't make any resolutions this year. If I did I probably wouldn't of got past January if I'm honest! What I did do, though, is promise myself that 2015 is going to be a year of 'doing'. I can feel a waffle coming on - bear with!
I've finally decided to bite the bullet and start learning to drive again. Luckily Ben is a fantastic driver and will be taking me out most nights, so hopefully I'll be able to say that I'm driving for sure by the end of the year.
I've not exactly looked anywhere yet, but I'd also like to find a language school and become at least semi-fluent in Japanese by the end of the year. If you know of any good places in the center of London or Greenwhich please let me know in the comments!
I'm turning 26 this year and I don't really feel like I've contributed anything back to the world. I see people all the time putting themselves out there and striving for change. I'm not talking about bringing around world peace - but I'd just like to start doing things that make it a better place, too.
When I think about it, I'm part of a community, that I've never really given a second thought about. I see everyone as equal in the world so thought that it wasn't my responsibility to help out in the gay community. It's probably down to the fact that I've had a great upbringing and I can honestly say that my sexuality has never been a question or factor to me, or anyone that's in my life. So if I don't make an effort to advocate equality, then why should anyone else? I'm not really sure how I can help - but it's definitely something I'll be looking at contributing to soon.
Living in a 9th floor apartment isn't the greatest place to have a dog, especially when me and Ben are out for most of the day. So volunteering at a dogs home seems like the best way to kill 2 birds with one stone (BAD METAPHOR!). I'd eventually like to rescue a dog when we're in somewhere a little more spacious and we're home more, too!
To round of this massive waffle of a post, I thought I'd round up some videos of some really inspirational talks that I've watched recently that have helped spur me on - and perhaps spur you on too!
Do you volunteer for any particular cause or do something to contribute back to the world? Let me know in the comments below, as I'm nosy and would like to know! :D
